We are a small team building travel booking for India. Nothing is open on this product right now — but the studio behind it is hiring, we read every speculative application, and this page says what would make one worth sending.
Open roles
Nothing is open on BookMyYaan specifically, and we would rather leave this list empty than fill it with roles we are not ready to hire for and replies we are not ready to send.
The company that builds it hires more often than this page changes. Viznetic Software Pvt Ltd posts its open engineering, design and DevOps roles on its own board — careers at Viznetic. Those are the roles that get you onto this product, and onto the client work beside it; what the studio does is on the about page.
If you would rather be told when something opens here, write to info@bookmyyaan.com with the kind of work you are after. We keep those and go back to them first.
What the work actually is
So you can judge whether it is the kind you want, rather than from a list of technologies.
Most of the difficulty here is not the booking flow — it is everything that happens when a supplier is slow, a payment half-succeeds, a policy is written in a unit nobody documented, or a customer is standing at a bus stop at eleven at night with a ticket that does not scan. The interesting problems are about money, state and other people’s APIs, and almost all of them are about being correct when something else has already gone wrong.
It is a small team, so the work is broad. Nobody here owns only one layer, and the person who wrote a feature is usually the person who fields the support mail about it.
What we look for
- People who write down why, not just what. Read almost any file in this product and you will find the reasoning next to the code, including the things that were tried and abandoned. That is the house style and it is not optional.
- A bias towards saying “we do not know” over producing a confident wrong answer — particularly where somebody’s money is involved.
- Comfort with other people’s undocumented systems, and the patience to be defensive about them rather than annoyed by them.
- Care about the customer at the worst moment of their trip, not the best one. Anyone can design the confirmation screen.
How to write to us
Email info@bookmyyaan.com. There is no form and no portal.
Tell us what you would want to work on and show us one thing you have built or fixed, with the reasoning behind a decision you made in it. A short, specific note beats a long CV; we will ask for the CV if we need it.
If you have used the site, the most useful thing you can include is something you think is wrong with it.
What we do with an application is covered by our privacy policy. Please do not send identity documents at this stage.
