Pricing
Pricing and fees
What the total is made of, which parts of it are ours, and why the number you approve on the payment screen is the number that leaves your account.

What is on sale
Two things, and both are supplied by somebody else.
BookMyYaan sells bus tickets and hotel stays in India. We are a booking platform: the journey or the room is provided by the bus operator or the property named on your ticket, and they set the price, the schedule, the amenities and the cancellation terms. What we charge for is the booking of it.
There is no membership, no subscription, no account fee and nothing to pay to search. You pay once, per booking, at checkout.
Nothing is priced on this page because nothing here has a fixed price. Fares and room rates are live, per date and per seat or room, and are quoted to you in the search results and again — rechecked with the supplier — before you pay. A table of example fares would be wrong within the day.
What the total is made of
Four possible rows. Two of them appear on a typical booking, and the payment screen shows you every one that applies before it asks for money.
Fare or room rate
AlwaysThe price of the seat, berth or room. It is the supplier's price with our margin already inside it, which is what makes it the fare rather than a quote we then add to. For a bus it is the sum of the seats you picked — operators price a window, a lower berth and an upper berth differently, so two seats on one coach need not cost the same.
Tax
When the supplier charges oneExactly the figure the operator or property states, passed through untouched. We do not calculate a tax and we do not add one of our own. The row is labelled with the supplier's own rate — “GST (5%)” — so it cannot go stale in our code when they change it, and it is hidden entirely rather than shown as zero when there is none.
Discount
When an offer code is appliedSubtracted before you pay, never refunded as a credit afterwards. Apply the code at checkout: the total is recalculated in front of you and the new figure is the one you approve. A code cannot be applied once payment is taken, because the booking can no longer be repriced.
Convenience fee
Not chargedA charge of ours for making the booking. It is currently nil on every booking, and the row does not appear at all. If it were ever reintroduced it would be a flat amount per booking — not per passenger and not per room — named on its own line on the payment screen before you pay, never folded into the fare.
There is one payable figure and one only. The total on the payment screen is the amount the payment provider is asked to charge — the same number, not a second calculation that could round differently. Nothing is added after you approve it, and there is no charge on this platform that is disclosed anywhere later than that screen.
All amounts are in Indian rupees (INR) and are charged in rupees. If your card or bank account is held in another currency, your bank converts it at their rate and may add their own fee — that part is between you and them, and we never see it.
If the price moves before you pay
You are shown the new number and asked again. We do not silently charge a different one.
Fares and rates are live, so the number in a search result can be stale by the time you reach checkout — a coach fills, an operator reprices, a hotel closes a rate. Before payment we recheck your exact selection with the supplier.
If it comes back at a different price, the new total is put in front of you and you decide. Nothing is charged on the strength of a figure you were shown earlier, and we do not hold a stale price we cannot honour. A search result is not a reservation.
Your selection is held for a limited time while you complete checkout, and the screen shows that timer. If the hold lapses the seats or room go back to the supplier and the price is quoted fresh — it is not reinstated at the old figure.
How payment is taken
Through Razorpay, in their own window, on their own systems.
Payments are processed by Razorpay, an RBI-authorised payment aggregator. You can pay by UPI, credit or debit card (Visa, Mastercard and RuPay), net banking or a supported wallet — the methods available to you are the ones Razorpay offers for your bank and instrument, shown in their window.
We never see your payment credentials. Card numbers, CVVs, expiry dates, UPI PINs and net-banking passwords are typed into Razorpay’s own interface, within their PCI DSS scope. BookMyYaandoes not receive them, cannot store them and will never ask you for them by email, message or telephone. What we keep is the amount, the status and Razorpay’s reference for the transaction.
The amount charged is fixed on our server against your booking before that window opens. It cannot be altered by anything happening in your browser.
A debit is not a confirmation. Your booking is confirmed when we show you a confirmation and issue a reference, ticket or voucher — not when money leaves your account. If payment is taken and no confirmation arrives, the payment is recorded against the booking and a refund is due; see cancellations and refunds. Do not rebook against the same payment in the meantime.
What you receive, and when
A ticket or voucher, by email, immediately on confirmation.
There is nothing to ship. Your ticket or hotel voucher is a digital document, attached to your confirmation email and available on the booking itself, and it is issued as soon as the booking is confirmed. The full detail is in our delivery policy.
If you cancel
The cancellation charge is set by the supplier’s policy as it stood when you booked, and the cancel screen shows you what you paid, what the cancellation will cost and what should come back before you confirm anything. Refunds go to the account you paid from, typically within 5–7 working days of the operator settling the cancellation.
Read cancellations and refunds for how the charge is worked out and what happens at each stage.
Common questions
Do you add a booking fee or convenience fee?
No. There is no convenience fee on bookings made today and no row for one on your bill. If that ever changed, the fee would be a named line on the payment screen before you paid — you will not find a charge on this platform that was not shown to you before you approved the total.
Is the fare you show the operator's own fare?
It is the operator’s fare with our margin inside it, which is how a travel agent prices. It is not a quote we then add a commission to at checkout: the number in the search result, the number on the seat map and the number on the payment screen are the same number, which is the property that matters. The only thing that moves it is the supplier repricing your selection, and then you are shown the change.
Why did two seats on the same bus cost different amounts?
Because the operator priced them differently. A window seat, a lower berth and an upper berth are commonly three different fares on one coach, and the seat map shows each seat’s own price before you pick it.
Is GST included in the price?
Where the supplier charges tax, it is stated on its own row with their own rate, and the total includes it. Where they charge none, there is no tax row. We do not compute or add a tax of our own.
Can I get an invoice?
For hotel bookings, a company block appears at the guest details step where the property supports a GST invoice, and what you enter goes to the property with the booking. Otherwise the amount paid is on the booking under My Bookings and in your confirmation email; ask support@bookmyyaan.com for a document against a booking reference.
Was I charged twice?
A retry cannot produce a second booking — confirmations are de-duplicated in the database rather than by trusting you to press once. If you can see two debits for one trip, one of them is an authorisation that will drop off, or it is a duplicate payment that is refundable. Send the booking reference to support@bookmyyaan.com and we will trace it.
The binding version
This page explains how pricing works. The contractual text is our terms of service, read with the fare rules and supplier conditions shown at checkout. Where this page and those disagree, those govern — and tell us, because it means this page needs fixing.
